The 'little pub in the bakery' is open again! The oldest dining establishment at Castle Rheinfels has been given a new lease of life. De Backes – the 'small' pub in the bakery is a tribute to the golden age of the castle. As a place to meet after a successful conference or as part of your castle holiday, this special pub inspires visitors not only through its true-to-the-original atmosphere, but also with its historical selection of quality schnapps and rum specialities.

This buzzing social hub first opened in 1929. From then on it was the favourite place for everyone in St. Goar to meet up, chat and celebrate. Not only did the German national football team celebrate here when they won the World Cup final in Berne in 1954, but also the traditional St. Goar Huntsman Ball in 1949.

Naturally, we love showing the Champions League and Bundesliga football matches as much as the fans love watching them. A unique speciality is our original Backes schnapps. Another highlight is that every guest can create their own wish-list of their favourite songs.
